How Meditation Can Increase Your Willpower

It is the will to stick to a new health plan, like going to the gym, do a yoga practice at home or take a walk everyday. It's so much easier to flop on the couch and watch TV instead. You may want to stop smoking, but they lack the will, or be one of thousands who want to lose weight but I can not keep it together.

So how can we begin to control the 50,000 thoughts that cross our minds daily? Meditation masters have shown that control of our minds and increase our self-discipline is really possible. As the saying goes Zen says it is better to be a master of mind rather than mastered by mind.

Meditation helps to develop the will. As a teacher of meditation, I saw thousands of people take control of their thoughts and decisions through easy techniques. Meditation is to help realize the fluidity of the thoughts that fill our minds. Usually, these thoughts are negative and prevent us from making the right decisions. For example, one might think that we can not resist the chocolate, not to mention all the times I've given before. And then, almost unconsciously, you get chocolate and swallow it (and then feel guilty!)

When we meditate, we become more aware of our thoughts, and we can begin to change. We work with meditation, chakras, or centers of subtle energy, which will bring greater power to the emotional and spiritual energy level. Manipura chakra, the energy center of the body, just above the navel, is traditionally known to control the force of will. When we use the breath to activate the Manipura chakra, our inner strength to grow and we make more informed decisions. For example, when I see a piece of chocolate, I can think more clearly the impact it will have on my body, and can easily take the decision to move. In practice, after meditation, I become more aware of all my actions and thoughts, and can choose what I want (that I prefer a flat stomach like a piece of chocolate!)

Meditation for the will

1. If possible, do some yoga moves first - I recommend you to block the release of energy from 1 to clear any blockages in your energy system.

2nd Sit in a comfortable position in the ground or a chair. You can use a stool to sit on meditation cushions in a cross-legged position, so that your pelvis tilts forward slightly to help you sit in an upright posture and comfort.

3. Mentally relax each part of your body, feet to the top of the head. Allow your body to melt into the earth, and at the same time, focus on the spine to stand up gently to the sky. Keep your body relaxed but alert, please awareness of their breath. Breathe in and breathe naturally through your nose, feeling the peace and tranquility of mind and body meet. Continue for a few minutes.

4. When you hear the silence grow, mentally, to breathe in and out of the heart chakra at the center of the chest. It seems that every breath opens the petals of a heart center a bit ', when love and light to radiate out. It appears that you have to get the most of yourself - if it's just a joy, and compassion. Take that feeling for a few minutes to breathe in and out of the (heart) chakra, Anahata.

5. Now allow your awareness to relax in the Manipura chakra, located just above the navel. Knowingly exposing and energy of your heart center of your solar energy center, and feel the power of its center of higher self empowerment will. Breathing in and out of manipura for a while and let your conscience to climb back again to the heart chakra. Rest of their attention on the heart for a while, and bring your awareness to your body and how you feel. Take a moment to adapt to their environment. Gently move your fingers and toes, stretch your body and open your eyes when you're ready.
