Tibetan Singing Bowl in Meditation


Tibetan singing bowls originated in the Himalayan regions of Tibet, northern China, India, Bhutan and Nepal. Historians are not able to detect when the singing bowls origin, but the technology to build similar tools have been in Asia for as long as 2,500 years ago. Some sources believe that the singing bowls are used for the first time in India 3000 years ago, and in Tibet 1,000 years ago. It is believed that the sect "Bon" is often used in shaman rituals of Tibetan bells.

Singing bowls were originally made of metal five, seven or nine different, including gold, silver, mercury, copper, tin and iron. Some also believe that the meteorite was used to make bowls of origin. But most of the dishes were made using five metals or less.

Today, singing bowls are often made by casting metal into a mold. These singing bowls are softer and easier to play. There are also hand-hammered singing bowls on the market. Hand hammer bowls are more difficult to play, and although it is often passed off as antique or old, are few. Old bowls are still there, but are very rare and very expensive.
