Sacred Space - Your Own Private Island
I used to be a procrastinator when it came to my meditation practice. There were always too many other things demanding my attention and I would defer my thoughts daily. Some days I'd be sitting here a few days, I sat there, to be honest, I do not have any sites that sacred space was really inspired me.
Lately, everything has changed. I received a beautiful zabuton comfortable. If you're like me (or maybe I'm just a slow learner), even though I have practiced meditation for many years, I've never heard of zabuton.
Zabuton is a square or rectangular large cushion flat you put your meditation cushion or Red Crescent discussion on the zafu. It's like your peaceful island rests on the knees lower than sits comfortably above the zafu. The ideal position to stay in the comfort of your session.
Suddenly you have space you can simply remove the contemplation and meditation. Eventually, he became imbued with sacred energy and helps you quickly find the center and do what little time or meditation time for you to feel comfortable and efficient. It can be your prayer beads or sacred text when not in use to show respect. Every time you go to your zabuton island, its energy is immediately by the sacred space you created.
No more sitting on the cold floor trying to find a comfortable position that allows you to clear your mind. Your zabuton is there for you, isolation and comforting, supporting and inspiring. Each time you want an escape from the most mundane and ordinary, your zabuton there as a foundation for your practice of meditation, sacred space.
So just drive the cats (they are always attracted to the sacred energy that is there) and to escape from one or two times a day for a little or a long meditation retreat. Zabuton thank you, you will know exactly where to go for daily reflection and prayer.
The nice thing is that if you have not designated a room for meditation, zabuton moves easily from room to room, inside or out with ease, bringing with him a sacred space.
